The third Summer School of the Erasmus Mundus Master QuanTEEM was held in Kaiserslautern on 27-29 August 2025.

ChalcThis event was a great moment because it marked the end of the second edition of the QuanTEEM master’s programme. It was also an opportunity for students from the second and third cohorts to meet.

The event was focused on the defense of the master’s thesis of the students of the second cohort:

  • Farah Hartono

Implementation of Superconducting Flux Transformer for SQUID Magnetometer in Ultra-Low Field MRI System

  • Hamna Aslam

Entanglement Classification using Variational Quantum Algorithms

  • Cindy Moreno Sarria

Experimental measurements of shot noise in a 2-dimensional electron gas of a GaAs heterostructure

  • Arman Tigranyan

Modelization of scattering and absorption effect in on-chip optical density sensors for Biotechnology

  • Truong Phong Nguyen

Electrical Characterization of Memristive Artificial Neurons

  • Ahan Palsole

Chalcogenide and Tellurite Microresonators

In addition, we had the pleasure to host two scientific presentations by local physics professors who presented their research activities, Herwig Ott on ultracold quantum gases and quantum atom optics and Elke Neu-Ruffing on quantum sensing.

The Summer School concluded with a lab tour during which we had the pleasure to discover different experimental setups, presented by researchers and students.
