Carnot Workshop on Quantum Thermodynamics
and Open Quantum Systems
25-27 November 2024, Dijon, France

This workshop aimed to gather ”regional” (France and neighbours) reseachers working on quantum thermodynamics and open quantum systems. This was also the occasion to celebrate the 200 years of the publication of the famous book ”Reflections on the motive power of fire” of Sadi Carnot, which gave birth to Thermodynamics. The workshop took place on the campus of University of Burgundy (Université de Bourgogne), from 25 to 27 November 2024, in Dijon (France), remembering that Dijon and its region (Burgundy) is the home town of the Carnot family. The workshop has also been broadcasted online via zoom.

Additionally, this workshop has been the occasion for Master students from the Erasmus Mundus Master QuanTEEM to attend and benefit from a serie of talks on topics at the heart of their training in quantum technologies.
This workshop received financial support from the QuanTEdu-France project.

Organizers
The workshop has been organized by Camille Lombard Latune, Matthieu Sala, Dominique Sugny and Stéphane Guérin from the laboratory ICB at Université de Bourgogne, and Cyril Elouard from the LPCT at Université de Lorraine, with the financial support from the Agence Nationale de la Recherche throught the QuanTEdu France project of the France 2030 programme and by the Erasmus+ programme of the European Union through the Erasmus Mundus Master QuanTEEM.
We also want to highlight an other event held at Le Creusot, entitled « Chaleur, énergie, thermodynamique-Le message de Carnot aujourd’hui… 200 ans après », on historical and modern aspects of Thermodynamics, organized by Académie François Bourdon, 21-22 November 2024. Click here for more details.
